Tasting Tales: Food, Wine And Cinema Affair

Food, Lights, camera, wine! As the wine adventure continues.

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a month since we had this amazing fun event.! We wish they could bring back this. The evening wasn’t just about watching a movie; it was an immersive experience called “Sideways with Wine.” Being fans of both wine and movies, me and Kemi were excited about the blend of flavors and storytelling awaiting us. It was one of the unique vibe and I never thought the two cinema and wine would go great together, the way it went.

I will take you through the adventure of how the evening went. It was not just watching the movie and sipping wine, the experience was too good with story telling through the movie and tasting wine which made us feel like part of the movie. By the way the movie title was “Sideways” where the main characters Maya and Miles bond over wine.  It is an amazing movie – worthy a watch.

Nigel Wilkinson himself stood at the helm, guiding us through the tasting notes with the eloquence and expertise befitting his esteemed title. And found out that Nigel is a Master Somelier and one of 271 world Somelier – Only 271 in the world. Nigel took us on a journey with his expertise on wine.

About the event

The event was organized by The Wine Events Company, known for their expertise in hosting enjoyable tasting experiences. Specializing in providing fun tasting events, The Wine Events Company curated an evening that promised not only exceptional wines but also an engaging atmosphere where guests could indulge their senses and discover new flavors. With their dedication to creating memorable experiences centered around wine, it was no surprise that the event was a delightful blend of entertainment and education, offering attendees an unforgettable journey through the world of wine.

Champagne Gremillet Blanc de Noirs

The show starter was “Champagne Gremillet Blanc de Noirs,” a delicate dance of bubbles that set the tone for the evening’s festivities. Champagne Gremillet Blanc de Noirs is typically a dry wine. Blanc de Noirs Champagnes, including Blanc de Noirs from Gremillet, are made exclusively from black-skinned grapes, such as Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier.

Drinking on its own was good but had to check what food best goes with the wine: Champagne Gremillet Blanc de Noirs is a versatile wine that can complement a wide range of dishes, from seafood to poultry to cheese and beyond.

If I have to rate this wine on taste: 8/10

Project B Sauvignon Blanc

Project B was one my favourite wine of the 5. If I have to score, will be 9/10.

Read somewhere that, the fruit is picked twice, ten days apart, to catch both the fresh version and the ripe version of this grape – Interesting!

Burlesque White Zinfandel

“I am not typically a fan of rosé wines, but I give Burlesque White Zinfandel from Lodi, California, a 9/10. Despite my usual preference, Burlesque’s unique fruity and refreshing flavors have earned it a perfect score in my book.” With its fruity and refreshing flavors, Burlesque White Zinfandel strikes a delightful balance between crispness and sweetness,

Nielson Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara County, California

Nielson Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County, California, is a red wine. This….. 10/10. I love how subtle, rich and flavorful. When I am buying wine, for some reason I stay away from American wine. But after this day, I am sold to try wine from different region.

Chateau Milon Saint Emillion Grand Cru, Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of go-to wine! I am familiar with the taste.  On the score board it’s a 10/10 to gether with Nielson Pinot Noir. This goes well on its own and goes well with diverse dishes
