Air-fryer chunky chips

If you own an air fryer and haven’t tried making chips in it yet, you’re seriously missing out. Air-frying provides a healthier option by requiring less oil compared to deep-frying. These chunky chips are our favorite and easy to prepare.

Ingredient

  • 4-6 large potatoes
  • 2 tbsp sunflower or olive oil
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp Cajun
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • ½ tbsp Garlic granules
  • ½ tbsp Paprika

Method:

  1. Peel and wash the potatoes. Cut them into half and then slice each half into 4 thick chips. Alternatively, cut unpeeled potatoes into chip-sized wedges if you’re not concerned about neatness. Wash and pat dry the chips, then transfer them to a large bowl.

  2. Add all the seasonings (salt, thyme, Cajun, garlic granules, paprika) to the bowl and toss well. Add olive oil or your preferred cooking oil, tossing until all the chips are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.

  3. Spread the chips in the bottom of the air fryer. Consider using air fryer liners for a cleaner and more convenient cooking experience than using just the air fryer basket. Add the oil and toss the chips to ensure even coating. Program the fryer to cook for 25 mins. Check and toss the chips after half the time, then continue cooking for the remaining time.

  4. Adjust the time if needed, depending on the type of potatoes. If not cooked to your liking, add an extra 5 mins.

  5. Serve with some chicken wings.
